Sons Of Pericles Tournament (Posted May 12, 2012)
There will be a Sons Of Pericles tournament held at Queens College (65-30 Kissena Blvd). The tournament will take place on Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd. With the season at the mid-way point, there are a few items we wanted to put out there to all the participants. As previously stated, both the Men and Womens divisions will play 10 regular season games. For the Men, each team will be seeded 1-10 after everyone has played each other once. The tenth game of the season will be against the team withing your own bracket (ie 1vs2, 3vs4, etc). After you have been seeded through the first 9 games, your team cannot moved below that small bracket. So seeds 1 and 2 are already determined after the first 9 games but seed 2 can move to 1 and vice versa. Seed 3 cannot move higher than the third seed. In the Womens division, they will be seeded 1-4 and 5-8. The second time set of games will only be against a team within your own bracket. Again, you cannot move out of your bracket during the second set of games. Your team can only move up or down within the bracket. Lastly, please remind your players that they need to be in attendance for at least half of the regular season games to be playoff eligible. All captains have been receiving emails with the participation that has been recorded for each game. Good luck on the rest of the season.
